The large red brick building at the corner of Claremont and Windsor was built by the Hervey Institute in 1908 as a boarding school for Protestant children. In 1921 it became the Montreal Hebrew Orphans’ Home. It was eventually acquired by the Congrégation de la Fraternité Sacerdotale in 1976. In January 2015, the property was sold to Brookline Developments, which will change its use once more.
